The EdLab generates, mobilizes, and promotes the use of evidence, building capacities for informed decisions that drive educational indicators and strengthen Colombia’s education system.
What is the EdLab?
The CEPE EdLab is an innovation and knowledge platform that leverages evidence to transform education in Colombia. Through processes of research, knowledge mobilization, evidence use, and capacity building, the EdLab connects researchers, educational leaders, and local communities to develop practical and relevant solutions to the country’s educational challenges.
What does the EdLab do?
The EdLab bridges the gap between the knowledge produced and the knowledge required in Colombia’s educational landscape. To achieve this, we have designed 16 strategic products ranging from the generation of rigorous evidence to the translation of data into practical tools that support informed decision-making.

1. Evidence Generation
We produce and compile comprehensive research and localized data reflecting both national and territorial contexts. This includes creating research reports and case studies to support effective educational practices.
2. Evidence Mobilization
We translate evidence into accessible products, such as practical guides and dissemination activities, delivered both in-person and virtually through workshops and webinars. Our goal is to enable stakeholders in the education sector to swiftly implement these tools within their contexts.
3. Evidence Use
We facilitate the integration of knowledge into policy decisions and educational practices, ensuring that every product is directly applicable and contributes to the advancement of education in Colombia.
4. Capacity Building
We offer targeted training, activities, and materials to equip educational stakeholders with the skills necessary for data use and evidence-based policy implementation. This ensures that knowledge is not only comprehended but also effectively incorporated into the daily practices of the educational system.
